I am a joint PhD candidate (cotutelle) at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University), working with Dr. Rajesh P. Barnwal at AcSIR and Dr. Haytham Fayek and Prof. Feng Xia at RMIT. I am currently based at the AI & IoT Lab of CSIR–Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CMERI) in Durgapur, and will move to Melbourne in February 2027 to continue my PhD at RMIT.

My research is at the intersection of computer vision and autonomous systems, with a focus on event recognition, scene understanding, and causal reasoning. More broadly, I am interested in how machines can move beyond recognising objects to understanding what is happening in a scene, how agents interact, and why things happen.

My research journey began with an internship at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, followed by my B.Tech project at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, both in distributed storage systems and coding theory. Those early experiences continue to shape how I think about information, structure, and reasoning.
